Hey! Remember almost just over 1 year ago when we threw together a virtual conference in a matter of three weeks, excited about the possibilities while still grappling with the uncertainty of the future? And it went kind of...well? We sure do!
One year later we reflect on what we learned from Science Talk 2020 and also share some exciting resources on planning and attending virtual conferences, collected from science communication practitioners and blogs from around the country.

This information overload forces us to self-filter, often selecting information that reinforces our existing belief system. But what are the risks of self-filtering?

Cathy Angell, M.Ed. is a Presentation Coach and Trainer at Cathy Angell Communications LLC. Cathy is the owner of Cathy Angell Communications and specializes in presentation design and delivery for scientists, educators, and public officials.  She was the former coordinator of Washington’s Coastal Training Program, considered to be one of the most successful training programs in the country for coastal managers. Cathy is nationally known for her transformative methods and received a communications award from NOAA which is given out each year in her honor. She lives in Bellingham, Washington.

She will be giving a short talk on “How to Make Your Message STICK in People’s Brains!” on  Thursday, March 25. The full agenda is available on the Science Talk website.
