Get to know Brian

What inspired you to engage in or sparked your interest in science communication?

A decade ago I was asked to create a workshop to help scientists improve their coms skills.  I’m not a scientist myself, but I love and respect science and am always excited to work with those of you in this field.

What advice would give a new science communicator?

When conducting your science, you’re rightly focused on the data, content and information of your project.  BUT! - when communicating your science, you must switch your focus to connecting with your audience. There is no communication without a sustained connection.

Morning person or night owl?

I’m a Morning person with situational adaptations for Night Owlery.
